LAPIS LAZULI SCARAB 
                          Known as  ‘Lajuart Riggi’ to the Afghans, the source of this lapis lazuli is ‘Sar-E-Sang,  Badakshan’ Province in North East Afghanistan. 
                          There are six  mines in Afghanistan: 
                          
                            - Mardan-Y-Yau
 
                            - Mardan-Y-Due
 
                            - Mardan-Y-Say
 
                            - Mardan-Y-Char*
 
                            - Mardan-Y-Panj
 
                            - Mardan-Y-Shadh
 
                           
                          *This  lapis comes from the fourth mine 
     
                          Carved from a  solid block, the high pyrites content is what gives it solidity, lending itself  well to the ancient skill of making boxes, obelisks and of course, this SCARAB.  The SCARAB weighs 3.931 kilograms (8lbs 10 oz) 
                          is 7.25 inches (18cm) long and 5.5 inches (14cm) wide.
